Critical Care Unit

Royal Preston Hospital, Preston

The team at Royal Preston specified the Aspire LED Sky Ceilings on these initial first two phases of their expanded and refurbished, state of the art critical care unit. The unit features 14 state of the art bed spaces, including six isolation rooms.

The space benefits from numerous groupings of virtual skylights with expanded sky scene imagery (meaning no repeated patterns). The panels help to illuminate and soften this clinical space, connecting patients with the natural environment and reducing anxiety.

Lay-in type ceiling grid (24mm T-bar) suitable for 600mm x 600mm ceiling tiles. LC6060 LED Sky Ceiling panels are designed to rest neatly onto 24mm or 15mm ceiling grid profiles. Additional hanging supports were added to the grid as reinforcement. As standard, each panel was supplied with independent safety cables.

    CONTROL
Each panel came with DALI dimmable, multi-lead plug-and-play LED drivers. These were linked to a multi-switch DALI wall control by the installation contractor. This enabled users to control the functional lighting and our LED Sky Ceiling feature lighting independently from a single control panel.
