Children's Theatres
Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children, Belfast
The brief from the Royal Belfast Team and the Helping Hand Charity was to create a positive, calming distraction for children as they wait in this Theatre space.
We created a custom hot air balloon sky scene (colours chosen by patients), matching in with the existing wall art designs across 12nr 600x600mm LED Sky Ceiling panels in a 4x3 configuration.
We also supplied 4nr 600x600mm LED Sky Ceiling panels in a 2x2 configuration for an additional corridor space with a playful kite design.

5Lay-in type ceiling grid (24mm T-bar) suitable for 600mm x 600mm ceiling tiles. LC6060 LED Sky Ceiling panels are designed to rest neatly onto 24mm or 15mm ceiling grid profiles. Additional hanging supports were added to the grid as reinforcement. As standard, each panel was supplied with independent safety cables.

6Standard on/off operation. The Hospital's Contractor connected the multi-lead plug-and-play LED Driver that powers the panels to an on/off wall switch, separate to the main functional lighting in the room, so that the panels could controlled independently, as needed.
“My job is to provide a child friendly and stimulating environment for patients. When the children enter the Theatre space, they enter via a corridor where they pause for check-in and a handover is completed. Some if these areas are quite dull and not very child friendly which is why we reached out to the team at Aspire. It was a fantastic experience, the LED panels are so bright and colourful which really helps to provide a positive distraction for the children, giving them a vibrant focus point during their journey through to the theatre department. Rather than simply staring at a plain blank ceiling they can now look out at a beautiful sky scene".
