Staff Breakout Room
St Thomas' Hospital, London
Like many NHS staffrooms and breakout areas, this space in St Thomas' Hospital is completly void of external windows. The team opted for 6nr 600 x 600mm LED Sky Ceiling panels with a biophilic tree branch design.
This natural daylight effect in a central 3x2 virtual skylight arrangement has transformed the space, making it more relaxing and calming for employees to use as a breakout space.

5MOUNTINGLay-in type ceiling grid (24mm T-bar) suitable for 600mm x 600mm ceiling tiles. LC6060 LED Sky Ceiling panels are designed to rest neatly onto 24mm or 15mm ceiling grid profiles. Additional hanging supports were added to the grid as reinforcement. As standard, each panel was supplied with independent safety cables.

6CONTROLStandard on/off operation. The Hospital's Contractor connected the multi-lead plug-and-play LED Driver that powers the panels to an on/off wall switch, separate to the main functional lighting in the room, so that the panels could controlled independently, as needed.
“As for the LED sky lights, the feedback from staff has been very positive. Some compared it to the feeling of having a great weather on a bright blue sky day and others to relaxing on the balcony of an apartment overlooking blue sea waters".
